The Barossa Gourmet Weekend is all about meeting the makers and supporting the people behind the delicious wines of this famous region. So, get a group together for an extended weekend and create memorable connections while discovering new grape varieties.
The Gourmet Trail, showcasing 13 events over the weekend of 7 and 8 September, is a great introduction to the region. Pick up a pass that includes a souvenir glass and access to all Gourmet Trail events and you’re good to go. Here are just three of the highlights …
If you’re after a boogie the Tent City Disco at The Greenock is the place for you. Saturday features funky beats from DJ Sam Clarke and Bobby Prince, while Sunday boasts an acoustic vibe with live music from Josh Phillips. With tasty snacks and an array of local wines and beer this bohemian disco will warm up while you get down.
Murray Street Vineyards, also in Greenock, is hosting Gourmet Graze in the Gardens with a music offering from Colonel Mustard. Unwind with this family-friendly feast in a serene location to taste the fruits of the valley while Chopping Board Catering take care of the rest.
Wolf Blass, Saltram and Pepperjack Wines combine forces for an afternoon of Rose and Reggae in Nuriootpa. Taste Rosé from France, New Zealand, Adelaide Hills and the Barossa while smooth sounds fill your ears. Salters will be taking care of your tastebuds with Jamaica-inspired dishes with outdoor games on offer for anyone up for a challenge.
These events and more can be found on the Gourmet Trail bus loop organised by LINKSA, so there’s no need to pull a short straw and get stuck as the designated driver. Of course, you can curate your own experience from the many events across the whole Gourmet Weekend program here.
The weekend offers intimate tastings, plentiful dining choices, long lunches, masterclasses with makers, degustations, comedy in the vines, feasts put together with quality local produce and much more.
